Curious about the process?
Photography & creative FAQs

Every project begins with a spark of an idea, but I know that bringing it to life involves a lot of moving parts. Whether we are capturing the vibrant energy of a location, styling a high-end editorial shoot, or building a fresh brand identity from the ground up, clarity is the first step toward a great collaboration.

I believe the best creative work happens when you feel informed and inspired. Below, I’ve gathered answers to the most common questions regarding my photography packages, styling sessions, and creative direction.

If your specific question isn’t covered here, I’m always up for a chat. Let’s make sure we’re the perfect fit to tell your story.

Because every campaign, brand refresh, and editorial shoot has unique creative requirements, I do not offer one-size-fits-all flat rates. Instead, pricing is completely customised to your specific goals, the scale of production, and how the images will be used.

To give you an idea of how rates are structured, project quotes are generally determined by five key factors:

  • Type & Scale of Project A streamlined personal branding session for a local entrepreneur requires a different scope of planning and gear than a multi-day commercial campaign for an established brand or agency.

  • Styling & Creative Direction Seamless imagery requires careful curation. Quotes reflect whether a project requires comprehensive creative direction, wardrobe styling, prop sourcing, or location scouting prior to the shoot.

  • Location & Logistics While I am based in Adelaide, projects can range from studio-based product shoots to on-location lifestyle sessions down the coast or within busy local business districts.

  • Image Volume & Post-Production The total number of final, high-end delivered assets determines the depth of the editing, color grading, and meticulous retouching process.

  • Licensing & Usage Image value is tied to placement. Standard commercial use for social media or small business websites is scaled differently than broad commercial licensing for large-scale print, billboards, or national advertising campaigns.

The best way to get an accurate investment figure is to share your ideas with me. Add info about your content requirements and brand goals, and I will tailor a custom proposal that fits your vision

Professional photography builds trust, improves website conversions and helps businesses create a consistent brand identity across websites, advertising and social media. High-quality imagery often becomes one of the strongest marketing assets for any business.

Absolutely. Every project can include creative direction, styling advice, wardrobe planning, prop sourcing and visual branding guidance to ensure your images align with your business and marketing strategy.

Preparation includes discussing your brand goals, choosing locations, organising products or wardrobe, creating a shot list and ensuring your business space is shoot ready. I will provide guidance before every session to make the process easy and enjoyable.

Most professional shoots can take anywhere between two and eight  hours depending on the number of locations, products or people involved. Larger advertising campaigns or editorial productions may require a full day or multiple days. There is also the post production time which includes downloading, storing and editing all the images, that can take hours or even days.

Yes. Photography sessions can include reels, short-form videos, behind-the-scenes content and lifestyle imagery designed specifically for Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn and other digital marketing platforms.

Unless otherwise agreed in writing before the shoot, I retain copyright ownership of all photographs created. Clients receive a licence to use the images for their agreed marketing and business purposes. If exclusive rights or copyright transfer are required, these can be arranged as part of the project agreement. When images are supplied to a client, a licence is granted for the agreed business for marketing purposes. This licence does not extend to third parties.

Third parties including suppliers, builders, designers, architects, marketing agencies, magazines, manufacturers, contractors or other businesses featured in the images must obtain written permission from Jodi Nash Photography before reproducing, publishing or using the images for their own commercial purposes.

Sharing images on social media with appropriate credit is welcomed where permission has been granted, however downloading, editing, republishing, advertising with or commercially exploiting the images without permission may constitute copyright infringement.

Booking is simple. Get in touch through the website or email with details about your project, preferred dates and location. Once your quote is accepted, your shoot date will be confirmed and planning begins.

Choose clothing that reflects your personal or business brand and makes you feel confident. Solid colours and timeless styles photograph well, while busy patterns and large logos can be distracting.

Avoid solid black or bright white. Multiple outfit changes are welcome. Bring more options that you think so we can play with the right look on the day.

Before every session, we discuss your goals, intended image use, locations, styling, shot list and overall creative direction. This planning ensures your photography aligns with your brand and marketing objectives.

Absolutely. Most clients are not professional models, and guiding people naturally is a big part of the process. Direction is provided throughout the session to create relaxed, authentic and professional images.

Yes. Many commercial and branding shoots take place at your business premises to capture authentic images of your team, products and services in action. Studio and outdoor locations are also available if preferred.

The number of final retouched images varies depending on the scope of the project and quote. Rather than limiting clients to a fixed number, every gallery includes all images in raw for choosing in a link and then you can chose the final shots for retouching. Once chosen I will edit / colour correct and retouch your curated selection and send you a link of high-quality, high resolution photographs. You can also add more images to your quote if you want more.

Most photography galleries are delivered within one week, or earlier depending on the size of the project. Larger commercial campaigns or extensive retouching may require additional production time. If required, I can deliver proofs that same day or the day after.

Definitely. Mood boards, Pinterest inspiration, brand guidelines and example images are all helpful during the planning process and ensure the final photography reflects your vision.

Professional photography creates stronger first impressions, builds trust and provides consistent, high-quality imagery that performs better across websites, advertising and social media, helping businesses stand out from competitors.

Yes. Professional hair stylists, makeup artists, models, stylists and creative collaborators can be arranged when required to elevate commercial and branding photography projects.

Yes. Your licence allows you to use your images across your website, social media platforms, digital marketing, printed brochures and advertising for your business, subject to the agreed licensing terms.

RAW files are unfinished digital negatives that require professional editing to achieve the final look and quality. They are comparable to an architect’s plans or a chef’s raw ingredients rather than the finished product.

Every image delivered has been carefully selected and professionally edited for colour, exposure, composition and consistency, ensuring it reflects the high standard of work and visual style my clients expect.

For this reason, RAW files are not included with photography sessions or commercial projects. Clients receive high-resolution, professionally edited images that are ready for use across websites, social media, advertising and print.

If required I can quote unedited jpgs of all images taken on the day.
